The Drapers Arms Billboard Project (July ‘25).
In Collaboration with Will Vaughan

Over the summer, Will and I had the opportunity to collaborate with one of our favourite pubs, The Drapers Arms, on a project designed to elevate their presence within the local area. Commissioned by the micro-pub’s owner, we were tasked with taking some of the establishment’s negative online reviews and repurposing them for a large billboard at the top of Gloucester Road — a location with high footfall.
Drawing inspiration from existing beermat designs, we digitally created a series of four beermats featuring selected reviews. These became the focal point of the billboard, resulting in a humorous, eye-catching, and distinctive spectacle for both pedestrians and drivers.
The designs were later produced as physical beermats, sold in sets of four, and they continue to line the pub’s tables today. The project attracted significant press coverage, with features in The Daily Telegraph, Daily Mirror, Irish Daily Mirror, Metro, iPaper, and Morning Advertiser.

The Listeners Zine (February & March ‘25).
In collaboration with Leusa Bowen

In January 2025, Leusa and I were looking for an additional creative outlet. As fans of an eclectic mix of music — with me working as a designer and Leusa as a skilled illustrator — we decided to create a zine.
The publication included a mix of interview material, where we invited readers to select three songs significant to their past month, alongside some editor’s choice recommendations.
Our aim was to make something visually exciting, colourful, structured, and consistent. While the overall format remained the same each month, the illustrations, song choices, interviews, and colour palettes evolved with each new issue.
Distributed across a variety of hidden spaces, cafés, and shops around Bath city centre, the zine’s whereabouts were teased on Instagram through curated images. Online, it received very positive attention, with readers eager to have their musical selections featured in future editions.

‘A Month’s Celery Gets You Four Leeks’ Pay’ -
A Book About Greengrocers with supporting
Type Specimen (June ‘25).

Individual Project

In June, I brought months of research, photography, and editorial design to fruition in a 120-page book.
Its content spans articles, images, interviews, and infographics, all exploring the history, practice, and unique challenges of running a greengrocer’s.
The book also features hand-rendered prints and type, pull-out elements such as a map of Bristolian greengrocers and seasonality charts, and chapters examining the colour palettes and typography associated with greengrocers. These components are tied together — quite literally — by its elegant exposed-spine kettle stitch.
To accompany the book, I produced a detailed type specification outlining every design decision, including grid systems, colour choices, and paper selection.

Where We’d Escape To -
A publication on escapism in Wales
Individual Project

This project explored a number of locations and activities that myself and close friends would enjoy outside of our home town while living in rural south west Wales. It delves into themes of escapism and rurality through a detailed retrospective, map and thumbnail collage.
The riso printed fold out map illustrates location of ‘escape’, where the corresponding selection of thumbnails on it’s reverse displays a collection on photographs taken on each endevour.

5 Hours -
Exploring space through type, print and other
poeple’s drawings.
Individual Project

This project began on Lower Park Row, where it remained for some time.
I spent many hours in the area photographing, sketching, and documenting what I observed. With the goal of creating a piece of work that would return to the space, I began exploring the idea of the area as a kind of transitional fissure — a crack between Clifton and the city centre.
This led me to design a piece that blended into its surroundings, inviting an audience constantly on the move to stop and take in the words.
The final banner featured a screen-printed poem, written by myself, describing the space as a caesura — a break near the middle of a line of poetry. It also incorporated a series of illustrations drawn by members of the public who paused their journeys to sketch their surroundings in my sketchbook.

‘Fund Schools Properly’ -
A Poignant and Personal Poster Series.

An Individual Project for Creative Conscience 2024

In 2024, I conducted a series of interviews with headteachers from both Bristol City and rural South Wales. These conversations provided clear insight into the daily difficulties faced by teachers and headteachers alike.
This research informed a series of five risograph posters designed to bring these issues into the public eye. Using bold inks, typography, and imagery, the work is intentionally hard to miss. Each poster also incorporates direct quotations from my interviews, underscoring just how challenging the job can be under financial constraints — straight from the voices of those dealing with them week after week, day after day, for the benefit of their students.
The posters address a range of topics, from free school meals to caretaking duties, sports equipment, and school trips.
